Blanc Named SRO of the Year

Perry Local Schools is proud to announce that Officer Andrea Blanc has been named the 2025 School Resource Officer of the Year by the Ohio School Resource Officers Association (OSROA).
The honor was presented during OSROA’s Annual SRO Conference on July 7, recognizing Officer Blanc for her outstanding dedication to school safety, student well-being, and community connection. Officer Blanc was selected from among approximately 700 OSROA members across the state. The award celebrates SROs who go above and beyond in their service, building strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and leaving a lasting impact on the school community. Nominees must have at least two years of experience, hold current membership with OSROA, and demonstrate an innovative, student-centered approach in their role. “Officer Blanc is more than a presence in our hallways; she’s a trusted mentor, problem-solver, and champion for students,” said Superintendent Nathan Stutz. “Her compassion and professionalism set a high standard and make Perry Local Schools a safer, stronger place to learn and grow.”
Deputy Chief Jason Fisher and Officer Joe Letta, Officer Blanc’s partner and nominator, joined her at the conference to celebrate the well-earned recognition. Reflecting on the award, Officer Blanc shared: “I thank my family for their constant support and encouragement, and my partner Officer Letta for this amazing nomination. I also thank the school community, our students, teachers, staff, administration, and my department. Your trust and openness have made it possible for me to build meaningful relationships and be more than just a uniform in the hallway.
“Finally, to the Ohio School Resource Officers Association, thank you for this incredible honor. Thank you for shining a light on the importance of what we do. SROs are not just guardians of safety; we are bridge builders, educators, and protectors of potential. This award motivates me to keep growing, to keep listening, and to keep showing up for our youth, because every student deserves to feel seen, heard, and safe,” Blanc said. Please join Perry Local Schools in congratulating Officer Blanc on this exceptional achievement and thanking her for the positive difference she makes every day.
