Perry Local School District Shows Improvement on Ohio State Report Card

PERRY TOWNSHIP, OHIO (September 22, 2025) — Perry Local School District is proud to announce its results from the 2024–2025 Ohio School Report Card, released by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce last Monday. Perry earned an overall rating of 4 stars,
up from 3.5 last year.
Superintendent Nate Stutz commented on the results, stating, "I’m incredibly proud of our district’s continued excellence. A 4-star rating is a significant achievement that shows Perry is exceeding state expectations in key areas. We’ve strengthened progress (growth), held steady in important categories, and remain committed to building on this success."
The State Report Card measures school districts across Ohio on several individual components, which are then combined to determine the overall score. Perry Local School District increased its rating in Progress to 3 stars, which measures the academic growth of students from year to year through a statistical analysis of performance trends. Perry also received 3 stars in Gap Closing, an area that assesses how well schools are meeting expectations in English language arts, math, and graduation, while also addressing chronic absenteeism, support for English learners, and identifying and serving gifted students.
The Achievement component once again earned 4 stars, signifying that Perry students continue to exceed established performance thresholds on state tests and perform well overall. Early Literacy also maintained 3 stars, reflecting reading improvement and proficiency in grades K–3. The district earned 4 stars in Graduation, which evaluates four- and five-year graduation rates.
Perry was also rated in College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness, earning 3 stars. This category evaluates how well graduates are prepared for postsecondary education, the workforce, or military service.
