Dr. DeLillo-Storey will be formally recognized during a ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 12 p.m. at Perry High School.
“Dr. DeLillo-Storey makes a difference in the lives of our students every day,” said Superintendent Nate Stutz. “This recognition reflects her lifelong commitment to serving others, both in the military and here at Perry. Not only is she an expert in her field, but she’s also an advocate, educator, and mentor.”
A retired United States Army officer and combat veteran, Dr. DeLillo-Storey served for 22 years, including deployments in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. During her distinguished military career, she earned numerous awards and honors through leadership roles in operations, communications, security, ethics, morale and welfare, education, and training administration.
Dr. DeLillo-Storey was both the youngest recipient and the first woman in Stark County inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. Beyond her military service, she has dedicated her career to supporting others through counseling, education, and trauma-informed care.
Currently, Dr. DeLillo-Storey serves as a contributing faculty member in the School of Counseling at Walden University, where she teaches and supervises students in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator and Certified Trainer in Trauma and Resiliency for Starr Commonwealth, as well as a trainer for the Stark County Educational Service Center in Trauma, Resiliency, and Education Collaboration.
A sought-after national speaker, Dr. DeLillo-Storey uses her platform to raise awareness, promote healing, and advocate for veterans and their families. Locally, she continues to support the veteran community by volunteering her time to bridge the military and civilian worlds through education, empathy, and advocacy.
