New Elementary Schools
In early 2020, the Perry Community approved a bond levy to secure funds to build four new K-5 elementary schools, begin renovations at Perry High School as well as other facility initiatives including an expansion of the Career & Wellness Center. Due to the generous support of the community, the District successfully passed the bond issue. This passage allowed the District to also secure funds from the state of Ohio, through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), who agreed to cover 62% of the total construction project.
Throughout this process, the Perry Township community was clear that their priority was retaining the concept of neighborhood elementary schools with smaller student enrollment. Even though the State of Ohio often recommends larger, more centralized buildings, the District began planning for smaller schools that are easily accessible and integrate into their local areas.
